Loughborough Grammar School was founded in 1495 and is one of the oldest and most academically successful schools in the country; it is also exceptionally well-equipped and the playing fields are outstanding.
"Preparation for life."
The school prides itself on having a family atmosphere and a very active house system. The two Boarding Houses are integral parts of the school and cater for termly, weekly and occasional boarders. Academic results are consistently good or excellent: 98% of sixth formers go on to university each year, 15 – 20 to Oxbridge colleges. Music and Drama are very strongly supported, with most music groups and productions being run jointly with our sister school, Loughborough High School.
There is also shared teaching with the High School in certain subjects in the Sixth Form. A wide range of sports and games is available as well as numerous clubs and societies, including outdoor pursuits, the Combined Cadet Force, Scouts and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
